Written in black ink on note affixed to front endpaper verso: “Red & White Book Introduction page vii Shane[?] states that the monastry of Dull was founded by St Adomnan about 704 – 717. But he says nothing of an earlier foundation of Mensuteus in that century.” Card of Mrs J. R. Campbell affixed to half-title page and inscribed in black ink above: “Caroline M. Menzies of Menzies – wife of Atholl MacGregor of MacGregor from her affect’ aunt AGMurrayMacGregor Oct 1901 (The [indecipherable] having been very useful to the Donor in her compilation of the history of the Clan Gregor)”.
