Bookplate inserted; inscribed in black ink on front endpaper: “To Sir Robert and Dame Pattie with my friendliest greetings. John Eccles. May 1964”; and written in pencil above inscription: “ack 19 / 5 / 64”. Includes typed list of fellows elected to the Royal Society, 19 March 1964, with annotation (in black ink, in Eccles’ hand): “Herewith you will see the actual citation for [William] Hudson” (attached in loose leaf). Also includes loose printed slip, an extract from the Year Book of the Royal Society (1942) listing fellows elected in 1941 and including Winston Churchill (underlined in black ink) and Eccles; annotated in black ink (in Eccles’ handwriting): “(I am very happy to be in such a list).”
