Inscribed in black ink on front endpaper: “To the Rt Hon R G Menzies [/] my most charming positive partner with my very best wishes. Quaglino”. Also includes loose printed “Queen Cakes” recipe between pp. 128 – 129: “Cream 1/4 lb. butter and 1/4 lb. (3/4 cup) castor sugar. Beat 3 eggs and add. Add 3 tablesoonfuls milk, essence to flavour, and lastly 2 ozs. (1/2) cup of plaine flour and 2 ozs. of this flour. Fill tins and bake 20 minutes in moderate oven.” Four cocktails highlighted with pencil on pp. 18 – 21, including: “Side Car Cocktail”; “Dry Martini Cocktail”; “Bronx Cocktail”; “Paradise Cocktail”; “Quaglino’s Special”; “White Lady Cocktail” and “Jubilee”.
