In gold on front cover: ‘Editor – R.G. Menzies’.

The Robert Menzies Collection includes an ample number of the Melbourne University Magazines to which Menzies contributed during his years at the University. This hardcover edition was gifted to him by Labor External Affairs Minister and Attorney-General H. V. (Doc) Evatt in 1948, as a memento of both Menzies and Evatt’s younger years spent as Editors of their respective universities’ literary magazines. The draft version displayed beside the final edition shows an original photo of young Menzies in the middle, beside his fellow students.
