James Robert (J.R. or Jim) McGregor was an Australian wool-broker and art collector. He was born in Adelaide, South Australia in 1889. In the early 1900s, he established a branch of his father’s company, J.W. McGregor & Co., in Sydney. He was a trustee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales from 1929 to 1958.
