John Vincent William Barry was an Australian judge. Born in New South Wales in 1903, he was admitted to the Victorian Bar in 1926. Barry also had political ambitions, and stood (unsuccessfully) as a candidate for the Australian Labor Party in the federal election of 1943. He had a key role in establishing the Australian Council for Civil Liberties and the Medico-Legal Society of Victoria.
